Longquan Exhibition

The Department of Antiquities and Museums participated in the "Longquan Worldwide" exhibition organized by the Imperial Palace Museum in Zhenjiang in China. Which revolves around the Longquan pieces, a type of ceramic celadon, which was manufactured and produced in Zhenjiang Province in China and then exported and distributed between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries around the world, As the Middle East had a share of these pieces, as the exhibition included (413) pieces from different parts of the world.

The department participated in about (14) Longquan pieces that were found through excavations in the nineties of the last century in various archaeological sites in the emirate.

For his part, Ahmed Obaid Al Tenaiji, General Manger of the Department, stated that this participation came within a number of External posts and within the framework of the agreement signed last year with the Museum of the Imperial Palace in Chinese’s capital Beijing.                                                            And that serves the aspect of holding specialized exhibitions and displaying the results of joint research and studies between the two sides to the public, researchers and interested parties.

Al-Tunaiji added that this is the third participation of the department in such exhibitions in China, where the department participated during this year at the Celadon Exhibition that was held at the Imperial Palace Museum in addition to the Asian Civilizations Exhibition.

Amal Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, Manager of Institutional Communications office, clarify that the department is working to expand partnerships and external relations with its peers from institutions and agencies specialized in the antiquities and museums sector, which enhances the exchange of experiences and cultures between the authorities.
