The 30 Anniversary of The National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah (1978-2017)

The Department of Antiquities and Museums celebrated the 30th anniversary of the opening of the National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah, which was inaugurated on November 19, 1987 by the late Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi .

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Head of Economic Development Department, HE Ahmed Obaid Al Tunaiji,    General  Manger of Antiquities and Museums Department, HE Mohammed Al Kait, Governor's Advisor, HE Haitham Matar, CEO of Tourism Development Authority, and Mohammed Hassan Alsebab, General Manger of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry   and directors of the associations of folklore and heritage in the emirate and the owners of private museums and   researchers and interested in history and the number of employees of the Ras Al  Khaimah  Government departments

The event included many events and activities in the National Museum   which targeted the public, including the fort story exhibition, which shows the phases aaaand the progress of the fort  in a simplified way from the defensive fortress to protect the land of the old city of Ras Al Khaimah and then the residence of the ruling family and a court of government and then   It was taken as a center for Ras Al Khaimah police and a central prison and in the end opened as a national museum

The heritage Assosiations also performed a variety of arts and songs, such as al ayalah and al harbiah  ,  and finally  lecture entitled "The Emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah" and its historical development by Dr. Abdullah Ali Al-Tabour, in which he described the development that took place in Ras Al Khaimah and its historic status. Events To Tell Us History Stories The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the first staff members who had vacated different positions from the museum such as Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Humaid Al Ali, the first director of the National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah. Mr. Yousef Al-Muraikhi and Ms. Amna Mohammed Al-Balushi
Also honored was the oldest worker in the department who was appointed in conjunction with the opening of the National Museum
