Al-Jazirah Hamra Village embraces the beautiful crafts of the past

​The Department of Antiquities and Museums in Ras Al-Khaimah organized the Ras Al Khaimah Crafts Festival, which under its umbrella gathered all the heritage societies in the emirate. Also, entities and institutions participated to make this distinguished event such as the Social Development Association and the UAE Red Crescent as the festival lasted for two days.​

The festival included a mixture of heritage crafts and ancient handicrafts that were unique to the people of the region in the past. These crafts are considered one of the most important economic ingredients in the region during a specific time period.
Visitors also enjoyed watching a number of ancient folklore arts such as the art of aleialih ​, alyawlih , liwa, alnadbih , and alrawah, and zuhbat aleurus​ ​in the old traditional way.​

His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Tunaiji, The General Manager of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, said that this kind of festivals has been activated to transfer the cultural and heritage to members of society and in support of productive families, which are still conservative to practice these traditional crafts, which contributes to preserving them from extinction. This festival also came to enhance relations with the authorities Which serves the heritage sector in the emirate​


Amal Al-Nuaimi, Manager of the Institutional Communications Office​, added that the department chose the Al-Jazirah Al-Hamra Heritage Area to hold this event to introduce the public to this heritage village, which is still preserving its beautiful traditional architecture, which will contribute to transferring the public to that beautiful time and going through a beautiful heritage experience in an atmosphere full of beautiful past scents.​​​
